Transport

Complete control of transport operations

Our mission is to supply our customers with the quantity and quality of gas specified in the contract. In addition to storage and connection, this service requires complete control of the various aspects of transport work. This involves the use of the most detailed consumption forecasts, and also acknowledged expertise in safety, flow distribution, quality control and grid capacity management to suit the volumes in transit.

Guaranteeing fair access to the grid

Third Party Grid Access (ATR) is provided alongside storage access as part of the conditions set down by French law and the Energy Regulation Commission (CRE). In this way, all tariffs and contracts meet the transparency obligations placed upon grid managers. We must provide natural gas suppliers with certain information enabling them in turn to manage their natural gas supply contracts. These data are largely based on consumption forecasts.

We also undertake to provide the same service to all operators, in accordance with our non-discrimination and confidentiality obligations. To ensure that we meet those obligations, we have drafted a code of conduct (Ethics, Code of conduct), applicable to all of our staff.

Precision control

Whilst transport basically consists of collecting natural gas at the point where it enters the grid and sending it to a specific user, flow controls requires precise methodology. It relies on complex and ongoing arbitrage to take best advantage of grid availability. In this way, balanced flows are maintained regardless of climatic conditions or consumption variables… Organised from Pau, the gas movements we control rely on detailed daily weather forecasts and consumption history. These data feed into IT models which have been optimised for each urban area. A number of simulation tools enable us to identify requirements, in terms of quantity and pressure, to adjust the corresponding flows and to identify any possible overload points which may justify essential investment to optimise flows over the longer term.
